the heart of our home
Father's Day has a way of making us pause and notice the things we often take for granted.
The big moments are easy to remember—the family vacations, the milestones, the celebrations. But as I've grown older, I've come to appreciate the quieter gifts of fatherhood: the steady presence, the unwavering support, and the countless sacrifices made behind the scenes.
In our home, my husband is the calm in the chaos. He is the one who patiently answers endless questions, builds elaborate forts, pushes swings a little higher, and somehow still finds the energy to come home to these things after a long day at work.
As a mother, I've learned that creating a beautiful home is about so much more than selecting fabrics, paint colors, or furniture. The true beauty of a home comes from the people within it. It comes from the laughter echoing throughout home, the bedtime stories, the family dinners, and the love that fills the spaces we inhabit.
Our children may not remember every detail of the homes they grow up in, but they will remember how they felt there. They will remember feeling safe, loved, encouraged, and protected. Fathers play such a significant role in creating that foundation.
This Father's Day, I'm grateful not only for my husband, but also for the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who show up every day with understated strength and faithful devotion, always asking for nothing in return. The world needs more men who lead with integrity, serve their families well, and love generously.
To all of the dads celebrating this weekend: thank you for the countless ways you make a house feel like home.
Happy Father's Day.
With love,
Cary Anne
